Tillers Instructor Peter Cooper
Since 2006 Peter Cooper has assisted Chuck Andrews as instructor in Tillers' popular coopering classes. Peter is also a Master Gardener and Master Naturalist, and has many skills in areas such as making shaker boxes, computer management, cabinetry, welding, blacksmithing, and livestock nutrition. Peter has worked in livestock nutrition for 12 years with AO Smith Harvestore and Carnation, as well as spending nine years with Microsoft in Washington state. He's practiced coopering for 12 years.
Peter is a member of the Rocky Forge Blacksmiths, the Artist Blacksmith Association of North America, the Michigan Artist Blacksmith Association, the Indiana Blacksmithing Association, and the Tippecanoe County Master Gardeners Association. He has also demonstrated traditional coopering at the Feast of the Hunter's Moon, a fall festival and reenactment in Lafayette, Indiana, since 2003. He demonstrates bucket, barrel, and churn making using 18th century materials and methods.
