Yoke Makers' Plan and Template Package
For those who want to make a series of yokes for growing teams, we recommend this special package which includes a yoke plan, yoke templates from 4" to 11" neck widths, the Neck Yoke Design and Fit TechGuide, and the Building an Ox Yoke TechGuide. The dimensions of the 4" yoke plans included in the package can be extrapolated to larger sizes, saving you the expense of buying plans in each size. Plans include front and top views and several cross sections including shaping and spacing of bows and hardware, as well as oval bows. Yoke templates are actual sized templates to aid you in shaping your yoke just right to fit your oxen comfortably. Larger sizes come in reversible half templates with reference marks to orient the flipside to a chalk line. This set would cost $84.00 if purchased separately.

Bow Spacers
Spacers are placed under the bow keepers to adjust the bow depth for oxen. If set too deep, bows irritate the brisket. Spacers allow fine adjustments for differing lines of traction and loads. Spacers come in wood in thicknesses of 1/2", 3/4", and 1". Leather spacers are also available, 1/4" thick. Spacers come with holes in either 1.5" or 2" diameters. A leather spacer also protects your yoke from being worn by the keeper pins.

Ox Halters
The heads of adult oxen grow to be larger than most halters available at farm supply stores. Draft horse halters don't always fit right. Our Miller Harness Shop nylon halter design makes adjustment easy with buckles on both ends of the strap behind the horns, which can easily be replaced with longer straps for a larger fit. As the buckles are attached to the halter itself, an extension strap can be made simply from a piece of nylon with holes punched or burned in each end. Available in black or red. (Only one black halter in stock at this time)

Horn Tips
Made by Bud Kluchnik of Ox Bells Farms in Maine, these handsome brass horn fittings are both ornamental and protective. They can be used for blunting the horns of unruly livestock or decorating show cattle or other horned animals. Made of solid polished brass, they have coarse threaded, tapered holes, and are hexagonal in shape for easy installation with a wrench. All sizes have a 5/64" diameter hole for permanent fastening with a pin, included. Sold in sets of two.
