Tillers offers classes in farming and logging with draft animals, as well as traditional farm homesteading and artisanal skills, such as blacksmithing, woodworking, coopering, beekeeping, cheesemaking, caring for livestock, canning and preserving food, and much more. All classes are held at Tillers' Cook's Mill Learning Center unless otherwise specified.
Class size is limited so register early! A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the course tuition fee reserves your spot. Call to register with a Visa or MasterCard, or mail in our registration form with a check or your credit card information.
Cancellations and Refunds
- Tillers reserves the right to cancel classes due to low registration. In the event that Tillers cancels, paid tuition and materials fees will be fully refunded.
- If a student cancels a registration more than one week before the class, tuition and materials will be refunded or transferred to another class.
- Cancelation less than a week before the class will result in the forfeiture of the 30% nonrefundable tuition.
- Failure to attend the class with no notice will result in forfeiture of any fees paid.
Tillers offers a number of discounts to help with class tuition.
Only ONE discount can be applied per registration.
Annual Members receive 10% off course tuition fees. Membership is only $40 a year and includes members of your immediate family.
Patron and Life Members receive 15% off course tuition feed. Patron membership is $200/yr and Life Membership is a one-time $500 payment.
Non-mambers registering for multiple classes can receive a 5% discount. Register multiple people for one class and receive 5% off. In order to receive your discount, please call the office or mail in your registration using the registration form above.
Tillers classes include lunch (unless otherwise specified). Please inform us of any special dietary needs ahead of time so that we can accomodate your needs.
Call for available on-site lodging at the Cook's Mill guest house, from $40 to $85 a night.
Lodging at Cook's Mill includes kitchen access and a simple self-serve breakfast. Sorry, no pets or smoking. Staying at Tillers not only offers a convenient place to sleep, but an opportunity to share stories and friendships with other Tillers students.
Please note: minors staying in the guest house or camping on Tillers' property must be accompanied by an adult. No pets or smoking.
