Tillers' Ox Teams |
Tillers' ox teams are typically named such that the name of the nigh ox is said first, followed by the off ox. Therefore of Marco and Polo, Marco is the nigh ox and Polo is the off. Tillers' breed of preference is the Milking Shorthorn, a historic triple purpose breed.

Marco and Polo |
|
Steady and dependable, Marco and Polo, along with Walker and Herschel, are Tillers' star team of oxen. A pair of red Milking Shorthorns, Marco and Polo can be told apart by the white blaze on Marco's head. When with the herd, Marco and Polo can typically be found lounging together. They weigh in at about 2,000 pounds each and are ten years old.
Sadly, Polo passed on December 24, 2009. |

Walker and Herschel |
|
Walker and Herschel are a promising young pair. Steadfast and energetic in the field, the team is following in the footsteps of Marco and Polo, and Lewis and Clark before them, as some of Tillers' key instructors. Herschel is a vibrant red Milking Shorthorn, while Walker is a beautiful roan. They were born in 2004. |

Blue and Caesar |
|
Over the years, some crossbreeding between Milking Shorthorns and Holsteins has occurred, resulting in an occassional animal with black markings instead of red. Hence, our Blue. |
