Ox Training Clinic

Ox Training Clinic

Ox Training Clinic

Designed for those who want to take their ox training skills to a higher level. Tillers' staff and guest instructors share training skills for remote commands, driving from behind, use of lines, etc. Participants should have experience driving oxen before taking this class and will have the first option to buy the calves trained during the class. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own animals for focused training.

"This class covered everything I came here to learn. I really appreciated how we were able to learn things that interested us as well as what the instructor thought was important. Dulcy did a great job answering all my questions and was good at showing how to do things! It was nice to have a variety of oxen to work with. The facilities are great, it is a really nice, quiet environment to work and learn in." -student, 2008

"Dulcy is a great instructor. She is clear and easy to understand as she explains both knowledge and skill. Her ability to follow us and cater the course to our needs was superb!" -student, 2008

"A man can not train oxen properly until he has first trained himself in the ways of patience, perseverance, and quietness." -from "Trial of Working Oxen" front page article in The American Agriculturalist, December 1871, Vol. 30 #12.
