Learn beginning skills of knitting and crochet, crafts that were common to most homemakers in the past and still hold charming appeal today. The project will be to make a dishcloth using either knitting or crochet skills, an excellent way to learn the use of the needle(s), how to hold the yarn, and the rhythm that helps this to be a relaxing pastime. What better to do in quiet moments than to produce a warm, cozy item for use or gifting? Join us for two days of fun and creativity. Bring your own needles or use ours.
This class is designed to teach the basic skills for beginning crochet: how to hold the yarn and crochet hook and how to make the starting chain. Then we will learn the single crochet and double crochet stitches. These will be put to use in the first project, a dishcloth that is quick and easy to make, and very useful in the kitchen. A pattern will be provided along with a handout of the instructions of the skills covered. All skills levels welcome! Product: dish cloths.
