Architectural Ironwork and Household Tools
Learn basic techniques and methods of architectural ironwork such as railings, gates, fireplace screens, etc. Scrolls and joinery methods will be shown. Or make kitchen utensils or fireplace tools in this two day workshop with Mastersmith Scott Lankton. No experience necessary, but a beginning blacksmithing class at Tillers or elsewhere is helpful. Students with specific projects or questions are encouraged to bring them along. The business of selling your work will be discussed. Scott Lankton has long made a living forging architectural ironwork.

Candlesticks
Enhance skills learned in Blacksmithing I & II, making a pair of candlesticks from 3/4" pipe. Skills will include making a spring fuller, fullering the pipe, flaring the end, splitting, drawing out, scrolling, drilling, and tapping. Students may embellish the candlesticks or feet with shaping, chiseling, punching, etc. as desired and as time permits. Product: candlesticks.
